The IT Shared Services Department at the University of North Texas

System is seeking to hire a Data Center Operations Supervisor to join
their team. The holder of this position performs highly complex (senior-
level) computer operations work. Work involves coordinating and
scheduling computer operations and assisting with the development of
new procedures and programs. Supervises the work of others. This
includes providing 24/7/365 operation, scheduling and monitoring
services for the infrastructure and the applications located in three data
centers. These systems provide services that are used to meet the
administrative and operational needs of the university. Works under
limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative
and independent judgment. Responsibilities of the position include but
are not limited to: * Serve as the supervisor of the team that acts as
primary responder for all Data Center hardware and infrastructure
issues, monitors the progress of events and supplies the various
teams, partners or vendors with updates. * Leadership, supervision
and development of the Operations team. * Develop and continuously
improve practices and policies. * Assist in the development of
workflows and procedures for the team based on industry standard
framework. * Work closely with other teams to streamline processes in
support of the business. * Ensures the Computer Operations physical
site disaster recovery plans are reviewed and tested with the
appropriate ITSS personnel. * Oversees on-call support provided by
Position operations personnel during off hours including University breaks.
