Victor-Marie Hugo was a French poet, novelist, and dramatist of the Romantic movement. Bom: February 26, 1802, Died: May 22, 1885. Victor Hugo had a nomadic and anxious childhood. He was erratically schooled, a fact which accounts in part for the eclectic and unsystematic aspect of his poetic thought.
