1. Asphalt cement: Is a solid, viscous material derived from oil and of refinery origin.

Used as a
binder after heating to form hot mixtures.
Cutback: Is a mixture of asphalt cement with petroleum-derived solvents. They have low
consistency and are cold worked. (up to 70°c).
Asphalt emulsion: Mixture of asphalt cement with water and a soapy solution that works as an
emulsifying agent.

CA 80 – 100; CA 40 – 50; CA 60 – 70
