RECOMMENDATIONS

a. Anatomy and Physiology

- You present the Anatomy and Physiology of the Respiratory

System comprehensively. However, in my point of view, I

would suggest that you just include the parts of the

respiratory system affected by pneumonia such as the lungs

and alveoli. Also you can include the nose and throat for

these parts are involved in the transmission of pneumonia.

- You can also present the figure below.

B. NCP

- Please avoid using medical diagnosis in formulating nursing

diagnosis. Instead use words that are directly related to the

identified nursing diagnosis. Please see the examples below:

a. Ineffective airway clearance R/T a pulmonary infectious

process

b. Impaired gas exchange related to alveolar edema and congestion

- In the objective cues- you can add the chest x- ray result

which is pneumonia

● - Please also add evidences in stating the objectives of

the study. Example:

● Maintain airway patency as evidenced by: normal breath

sounds, normal rate and depth of respirations, and ability

to effectively cough up secretions after treatments and

deep breaths.

● Demonstrate behaviors to improve or maintain clear airway


as evidenced by__________???
● Demonstrate absence/reduction of congestion with breath

sounding clear, noiseless respirations, and improved

oxygen exchange (e.g., absence of cyanosis and arterial

blood gas [ABG]/pulse oximetry results within client

norms).

● You can include ABG and pulse oximetry results is these

parameters are reflected in the case

● Please include only those interventions that you think you

can apply in the real setting, or those interventions

which you think you can perform. Therefore, ● Assist

with appropriate testing (e.g., pulmonary function or

sleep studies can be eliminated in the interventions

column
