1 Always rough out the stock at slow speed. Remove square corners on the bandsaw.

2 No Spectators.

3 As the woods diameter decreases, move the tool rest closer to the work

4 Always remove the tool rest when standing

5 Never touch the work with your bare hands when it is in motion.

6 Hold tools firmly in each hand.

7 Never wear loose jewelry, clothing, or long hair.

8 Always keep the tools sharp. When dull ask the instructor to sharpen them.

9 Use the right tool for the job.

10 Spin the work by hand before turning on the machine.

11 Make sure spindle turnings are secure.

12 Periodically check the screws.
