Useful Language: Grammar Loathe
● You can use the structure: I like to + verb (infinitive). Ex: I like to watch

● Ou you can say: I like + verb (gerund). Ex I like watching tv.
● Very much or a lot always come after the thing you like. Ex: I like
teaching very much. NOT I very much like teaching.

Shop assistant: OK. In your size we have these three models.
Shop assistant: Do you want to try them on?
Customer: Yes, please. Where are the fitting rooms?
Shop assistant: Just at the end of the corridor / They are just
over there. Basic things you need to know for shopping:

How Much and How Many Useful Language

We use How many on things we can count (countable), for example: ● If you can put the word in a
plural form it is countable, if
● Almost every thing that can be produced: car, house, cellphone, not is uncountable.
computer, etc. ● You can count uncountable
● Most of the foods: Apple, Pizza, Eggs, Tomato, etc. thing putting them into
containers, like bottle, glass,
jar, gallon, hand, etc.
We use how much for things that are uncountable, for example: ● You can count uncountable
things cutting or dividing
● Liquids: Coffee, Tea, Juice, Whiskey, Honey, etc them into slice, loaf, piece
● Foods that resemble liquids: Soup, Rice, Pasta, Sugar, Flour, Salt,
Butter.

Tip

The countable and uncountable words are very similar to portuguese, but
there are some differences like:
● Information, Luggage, Baggage, Fruit, Furniture, Advice, Hair, etc
