Case Study – 2: Financial reporting to Zemen Bank Board of Directors
The purpose of this case study is to teach studies how to develop and deliver financial reports to senior leadership

BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANY


1. The management of Zemen bank wanted to review the performance of the bank over the three years’ period from 2016 to
2018 and also to compare performance with its peers or the leading private banks operating in the country.
2. The goal of the management is to ensure strong earnings, liquidity, and quality of assets
3. You are recruited by the management to take charge of this project and help them realize their goals.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE BANK


You are provided with the attached three-year annual report for the period 2016 - 2018 (Which is also available on the official
website of the bank)

QUESTIONS:
The management wanted you to do the following tasks:
1. Review the financial performance of the bank over the three years' time (use some financial tools you learned in the class
in your reviews like trend analysis, financial ratios, financial reporting best practices...)
2. Review performance of the bank as compared with its peer or leading banks (Use a maximum of three banks to compare
with)
3. Share any insight or recommendation based on your observation or analysis
