GUIDELINE ON HOW TO UPLOAD VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE

To get started uploading videos on YouTube, follow the steps below:

1. Sign into YouTube Sign in using Google Accounts and YouTube

You need a Google Account to sign into YouTube. A Google


Account gives you access to all Google products (e.g. Gmail,
Google Groups, Picasa, Web History, YouTube, and more).

If you've signed into any of these products before, you already


have a Google Account. To sign in, enter the email address you
entered on those products (if you use Gmail, it's your Gmail
username). If you don't have a Google Account, you can create
one when you sign up for YouTube.

If you don't have a Google Account, here's how to get started:

 Create a Google Account on your computer


 Click Sign in the upper right corner of YouTube on
your computer.
 Click Create Account and enter some basic information
to create your new Google Account. You'll be asked to
create a Google username when signing up. This is your
new Gmail email address only - it will not be your
public name on YouTube.
 Once you're done setting up your Google Account, click
Back to YouTube.
2. Click the Upload button at Select the video you'd like to upload from your computer.

Before you start uploading the video you can chose the video
privacy settings.

As the video is uploading, you can add information (e.g. title,


description, tags), change your privacy settings
Make sure that you’re using one of the following formats:

.MOV
.MPEG4
.AVI
.WMV
.MPEGPS
.FLV
3GPP
WebM
3. Video privacy settings When you upload a video, by default it has been set as a
“Public” video, which means that anybody can view it. You can
easily change the privacy settings from “Public” to
“Unlisted”while you’re uploading the video in the “Privacy
Settings” section. Or, if you’ve already uploaded the video, you
can change the privacy settings by following the steps below:
 Visit your Video Manager.
 Find the video you’d like to change, then click the Edit
button.
 In the “Privacy Settings” drop-down menu, select
Unlisted.
 Click Save changes.

*Unlisted videos
Making a video unlisted means that only people who have the
link to the video can view it. To share an unlisted video, just
share the link with the people who you’d like to have access to
it, and they’ll then be able to see it. Unlike private videos, the
people you share the video with do not need to have a Google
account to see the video, and they can share with more people
simply by forwarding the link to them.
Unlisted videos won’t appear in any of YouTube's public
spaces, like your channel page or search results.

Note : Please do not set your privacy setting as “Private”.


The people who have the link will not be able to view your
video.
4. Share your video You can share your video on the “Upload to YouTube” screen,
or you can do it after it’s already uploaded by navigating to the
video through the Video Manager.
Under the “Share” section of the “Info and Settings” page, you
can simply tap on the URL to copy it to your assignment.
5. IMPORTANT NOTES  Please ensure your privacy setting is correct. E-graders
will not be able to view your video / audio if the setting is
wrong
 Please make sure you copy the correct video / audio link
into your assignment. If the link is not included in the
assignment, resubmission of assignment / link will not be
allowed
 The video / audio link should be highlighted in blue with
underline text. Example :
