Encyclopedia of A curious Life

1. Entry Road Trips My family has taken a lot of road trips across the country.

We used to have a giant map of all the places we have driven on the wall of

our garage, but we took it down when we built our climbing wall. My favorite

road trip that we have been on would have had to have been our trip to

Yellowstone. We drove North up to South Dakota, then West to Yellowstone

(and Grand Teton, which is definitely worth a visit.) Then we drove South to

my cousin’s 8th grade graduation and then finally back home in the least

linear road trip ever.

2. Entry Mother I love my mother. I have countless memories of having fun

with her, like going on trips and taking walks. My favorite trip that just the

two of us took was to Chicago. We went to museums and were able to spend

lots of time because it was just the two of us. We went to shake shack

(Great restaurant) and Xoco Mexican Grill/Street foodery. In conclusion, I

love my mother because she always has my back in good times and bad.

3. Entry Quotes To me, quotes are very inspirational. My favorite quotes are

ones that are both inspirational and humorous. One such quote is “May the

forces of evil get lost on the way to your house.” The message of it

resonates with me is that a lot of success in life is pure luck. Another quote

I like is one by Mark Twain. I knew I wanted to include one of his quotes but

I did not know which one. The one I finally picked was “Denial Ain’t Just A

River In Egypt.” It’s funny and It’s meaningful(?). A nice quote to end with is

“Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened”-Dr. Suess.

4. Entry Kindest Kansascitian. In 6th grade, I entered an essay contest called

the Kindest Kansascitian essay contest. In the contest, students write

essays about people in their communities that they feel exemplify kindness.

I wrote about my neighbor, Todd Martin, and how in him being my

scoutmaster and generally an awesome person, he has had a positive effect

on both my life and the community as a whole. I was a runner up in the

contest, one of two in my grade.

5. Entry Presidents I have a fascination with history, namely war and it’s twin,

politics. I love reading stories about the obscure events in the lives of the

figures. My favorite president is Eisenhower, due to his existence at the
