Letter & Reflection

Hey Granny B!

I just wanted to write you and tell you all about my travel
wedding! I know nobody saw it coming but it was one of the
most romantic, peaceful and memorable things I will ever do in
my life. It was nice to not have everybody around and for us to
just focus on us. We actually got married under a beautiful
waterfall and it was the most life changing feeling. I do wish
you were there, but I know once I get home, we will celebrate
big! Even though I could stay on the road forever, you know that
I can’t wait for all the balloons, cake, family and friends. It will
be great! I love and miss you!

See ya soon,

Sydney Flood

Reflection Answers:

When creating this scene for the front of my postcard all I had
was a wedding magazine and a travel magazine, so it was going
to be something crazy. I had a lot of fun with it though because
somehow, I was going to make it into a very cool and
memorable thing to write about to my grandma because
traveling is awesome, and weddings are memorable. So it ended

up being me and my husband traveling on our own to get

married at this amazing place and me thinking about the great
celebration we were going to have with everyone including my
Granny B.

This activity could be adapted for elementary students by having

them do this activity for them to then write a story about. So
instead of writing a letter to our grandmother, they would create
this artwork and then use their imagination to write a story about
it. Then this work they created would be the cover or title page
of their story!
