Drive Test Analysis using Genex

Assistant
Objective
• Basic knowledge to use Genex Assistant
Sofware
• Basic knowledge how to analyze Drive Test Log
files
• Sample case for RF optimization
STEP BY STEP HOW TO SET UP GENEX
ASSISTANT
1. Create new project
2. Project Setting
3 Load Engineering
Parameter (Cell file)
4.Import Log Files
5. Set up analysis group manager
• Analysis group are used to grouping log file that use different
method in specific group. So we can load all logfiles at the same
time with different method and analyze separately.
6. Run Analysis (Binning)
• Analysis process already start, then
wait until All Logfiles done analysis
7. Default Analysis view
• After done analysis this windows will be
shown
8.Setting Legend
• This is sample if you want to customized the legend
for all parameter based on customer request
9. Show radio parameter on Map
10. Import Map file
11. Check serving PCI
• Checking serving PCI is used to check if crossfeeder
occurred or to check any overshooting cell
12. Check Statistic KPI
13. Checking Throughput KPI
SAMPLE CASE ANALYSIS
1. Cross feeder site
• Probem : Crossfeeder between Sector 1 and 2
• Solution : Switch feeder connection between sector 1 and 2
2.Low Throughput due to poor coverage issue

• Problem : Customer got low throughput issue in

some area Speed Test result around 13 Mbps
• Root Cause Analysis : Based on Drive Test result Signal Coverage (RSRP) and Quality
(SINR) around complaint area is low, RSRP around -120 ~ -110 dBm SINR around 0 ~ 6
dB

RSRP Before : SINR Before :

• Optimization Proposal : Doing Site audit and physical Tuning to improve coverage serving
cell coverage
• Action Taken : Adjust Mechanical tilt sector 2(B) from -2 to 2 cause the tilt is
unreasonable, contour area that served by this cell are flat and Antenna height is 40 m.
• Result after Optimization: Based on Drive Test result after optimization Signal coverage
and quality improve and Throughput also improve from 13 Mbps to 30 Mbps
