Swasthya Chetna program was launched with the aim to reduce public health problems

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), diarrhea killed 2.2 million people every
year. In India, it took the lives of 600,000 children under age five annually. Yet WHO claimed
that by washing hands properly, half of the deaths could be avoided, hence swasthya chetna
SC aimed to reduce a major public health problem, the main aim was to contact remote,
media-inaccessible communities, visited 72 villages quarterly, delivering their scripted health
and hygiene messages through a variety of illustrated stories, visual aids, and quizzes with ,
prizes.

B. Life boy Kumbh Mela program at Prayagraj aimed to prevent many illness that spread by
touch.

The main of this program was to make people aware about how hygiene can avoid the
spreading of diseases. As in the kumbh mela millions of people gather, chances of spreading
diseases and germs are very high and can lead to transmission of deadly diseases, hence in
order to encourage the peoples to wash their hands they kept lifebuoy handwashes at the
wash basins of every dabas and hotels. They also reminded people about the hygiene on roti
by using heat seals saying have you washed your hands before eating the roti.

2. Shakti Ammas program was introduced to support women entrepreneurship.

The main aim of this program is to recruit women as local distributors especially in the
remote communities, appointing them as Shakti Ammas (“strength mothers”). The company
offered every thing for them to stand on their own by providing them with training,
microcredit, and products in small pack which can be reached to people on low incomes.
This program helped These Shakti women entrepreneurs to earn Rs. 1,000 a month or more,
often doubling their household income to lead their life

3. During the Swine flu pandemic Lifebuoy introduced its liquid handwash which was mainly
aimed at spreading the importance of hand washing and how it prevents the deadly disease.

When a worldwide swine flu pandemic broke out, which resulted in the death of more than
18,000 people in South Asia and Africa. When public health officials began stressing the
importance of handwashing and how it can prevent the spreading of deadly diseases.
At that point of time inn 2010 uniliver introduced Lifebuoy Liquid Handwash with a
campaign highlighting its germ-killing capabilities with in 10 seconds.
