A 3-year-old child started the biggest New York City fire after 25
years, officials say
A 3-year-old child was playing with a stove when accidentally it started the biggest fire in New York City after 25 years, an official said. The fire spread quickly up to the stairwell, “acted like a chimney”, chief of firefighters said. Five residents were dead when in the fire before the fire department arrived. Once the flames had been extinguished, 12 people including children, were reported killed, while four others were struggling for life in local hospitals, New York City Fire Commissioner Daniel A.
