sizing: Finished blanket will measure
approximately 30” wide by 32” long.
materials:
? Yarn: 750 yards worsted / aran weight yarn
(sample shown in Sweet Fiber Cash-
merino Worsted in ‘tea leaves’)
? Gauge: 18 sts & 22 rows / 4” in stockinette
14 sts & 28 rows / 4” in garter stitch
? Suggested US #8 / 5mm needles
Needles: (or as required to meet gauge)

Notions: Stitch markers, darning needle

This blanket is knit from end to end. The garter square
in the blanket is offset.

bind off here Cast on 135 sts. Knit every row until piece measures
direction of knitting

work in garter and 2” from cast-on.

stockinette pattern Row 1 (RS): knit
a 32” Row 2 (WS): k10, purl to last 10 sts, k10
set up markers and
pattern here Work rows 1-2 a total of 8 times, this is 16 rows.
Row 3 (RS): knit
cast on here
Row 4 (Set-up): k10, PM, p10, PM, k40, PM, p65, PM, k10

This set-up row establishes the offset garter square
within the blanket.

k - knit Row 5 (RS): knit, slipping markers as you come to them
p - purl Row 6 (WS): [knit to marker, SM, purl to marker, SM]
PM - place marker twice, knit to end
RS - right side
SM - slip marker Work rows 5-6 a total of 40 times, this is 80 rows.
st(s) - stitch(es)
WS - wrong side
Work rows 1-2 until blanket measures 30” from cast-on
(or 2” short of desired length). Knit every row for 2”.
Bind off, weave in ends, and block the finished
blanket. Get ready for cozy snuggles!
