How to not pay for Spotify

Hello people of Steems,

In this article I'll show you workarounds to get everything

out of the free version of Spotify.

Windows

High quality audio

To get high streaming quality you only have to change a
settings le. Be sure to kill the Spotify application rst.

1. Win+R or Run...
2. Go to %appdata%/spotify/
3. Open the prefs le in a text editor
4. Add these two lines:
audio.sync_bitrate=320000
audio.play_bitrate=320000

5. Save & Close

6. Right-click the prefs le and choose Properties
7. Check the Read-only box and press OK
No Ads
1. Download this le (Spotify.bat) and run it as
administrator.
2. Done!

What is does:
Windows uses a hosts- le that maps hostnames to IP-
addresses.
You can nd it here:
%systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\
And this is what it looks like:

The script adds the last couple of lines you see in the
image to the hosts- le. By doing that, Windows maps the
urls where Spotify gets it's ads on to 0.0.0.0. That way
Spotify can't load ads.
