Exercise: (Lesson 2 – Task 2)

(25 th May) Some people say that art (e.g. painting, music, poetry) can be made by everyone whereas
others believe that it can be only made by those with special abilities. Discuss both views and give
your opinion.

Many people believe that anyone can create art while other argue that only those with talent can
be artists. While I tend towards the viewpoint that anyone can be an artist, I would have to say that
not every artist does arts.

On the one hand, art has no limit, no principals - It is a world, where, anyone can express anything
freely. People of uniquely different preferences can enjoy creating their own world, where they hold
the control of everything. If the artists are lucky enough, their work can get a good reception but if
not, it does not really matter. Art is somewhat born by interest or belief of one individual and it
depends heavily on the public to whether or not to consider it art. For instance, the Japanese manga
called Hibi chouchou is praised o be one of the most worth-reading manga of the country. However,
to several foreigners, it is actually overestimated.

On the other hand, the freedom of art has been an extenuating factor for many “wild souls” to ruin
the pure core of art with the purpose of impressing viewers to gain popularity. Moreover, those work
are proned to be spread widely, having negative imfluence on viewers, especially teenagers. For
example, several music videos on Youtube are full of age-restricted content without being age-rated
properly, even with adults, those kinds of “art” are overwhelming.

In conclusion, it seems to me that every individuals can freely do art in an acceptable way.
