IEP meeting Jones Feb.

 Life skills because of a low IQ of 67.
 In class, he is having difficulty understanding concepts.
 Was on virtual school.
 Doesn’t really log on to school.
o Comes to class that he likes and feels that are important to him.
 Replacement skills.
 Closing the gaps.
 Giving him a taste of what success looks like.
 Tiering activities for him.
 Building his relationships with his teachers.
 Going over his reevaluation and IEP.
 Premature, but made all the necessary milestone marks.
 Cognitive function assessment: 67
 Lots of variability.
 A lot of his scores were in the very low range.
 Oral/visual learner.
 Extra time to complete assignment.
 Academic achievement assessment.
 Reading: needs to build his foundational reading skills.
 Needs to be identified as a student with a specific learning disability.
IEP goals:
 Language Arts grade dropped from the first quarter to the second, but reading it
went up.
 The third quarter focusing on supplemental reading and math to get him caught up
to close the gap.
 Working on one sentence at a time.
 Smaller assignments.
 Sampling of the problems.
 50% less material to do.

 Parent was on board with helping her son.

 She was very thankful for any help the school was giving to her son.

 She was on board to support her son in the areas he needed help in.
