Steps to rinse, acid dip, and rinse again are called for before and after
most plating baths. Following these steps leaves the workpiece clean,
which aids in adhesion and also ensures that residual acids or cyanide
are removed. This avoids combining harmful chemicals and makes the
workpiece safer to handle upon completion of plating.

1. Add warm deionized or distilled water to make one quart of solution.

2. Pour the amount needed for use into a Pyrex® beaker.

3. Use at room temperature.

4. Water-rinse workpiece to remove solutions from previous bath.

5. Immerse workpiece in acid dip and agitate so the solution has access
to recessed areas.

6. Water-rinse workpiece thoroughly again before continuing to the next

step.
