 The District that forms a part of Allahabad Division is named after its
headquarters town “Bela Pratapgarh”, commonly known as Pratapgarh.
 The name Bela presumably being derived from the temple of Bela Bhawani on the
bank of river Sai.
 Area is 3730sq.km
 Population approx. 32 lakhs
 Male & Female ratio is almost equal. (male= approx.16.06 lakh, female=
approx.16.03 lakh)
