Simile- it is a figure of speech used to compare two different

things by using the word “ like”, or “ as”
Examples:
My love is like a red red rose.
I wandered lonely as a cloud.
My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun.
The sun shone like a beacon in the night.

Metaphor-is a figure of speech that is used to make a

comparison between two things that aren’t alike but do have
something in common. Metaphor’s comparison is more indirect,
usually made by stating something is something else.
Examples:
The classroom was a zoo.
The alligator’s teeth are white daggers.
She is a peacock.
My teacher is a dragon.
He is a night owl.
