 What are parts of speech?

Noun – Anything with a name (names, places, things)

Pronoun – Short word you use in place of noun (he, she, it)

Verb – Word that indicates an action

Adverb – Word that modifies or describes a verb

Adjective – Describes de noun

Preposition – gives cohesion to a sentence

Conjunction – connects sentences

Interjection – expresses emotions (ouch, ups, nah)

 Why is it important to know about parts of speech?

It is important because if you know about parts of speech, you will be able to
understand the correct use or definition of a word, for example, you can use
drink like a verb or a noun depending on the meaning you want for your
sentence.

Group of words putting together looking for a meaning

 What is a simple, compound, and complex sentence?

Simple – Only one clause

Compound – Two or more independent clauses

Complex – Has at least one independent clause plus one dependent clause

 What is a paragraph?

Group of sentences that forms a single idea
