Nowadays, this industrial city has also been earning its international fame for its well-known Stodoini Street offering a wide range of clubs and discos. Back inthe early 90's REVI was still looking for its authors (and of course, it still even after 12 years, ofits existence). However, at the very beginning, most articles came from REVI editors, and were mainly focused on modern US and WW Il German aviation (by the way, REVI is a German abbreviation for a reflex gunsight). I had the pleasure to bring Japanese subjects to REVI starting with WW I aviation in "REVI No. 4 and resulting in REVI No. 18 with an article on Yamamoto’s last flight. In the meantime, ‘became a REVI editor and | have always appreciated comments from our readers. ‘One of them was Martin Ferkl whose notes to my article on Yamamoto were so interesting that we asked him o-write a separate article about a certain sortie performed by D3A “Val” bombers of the 2nd Kékitai Soon, more articles from Martin followed and he became a regular REVI editor and my successor in the ‘management ofthe modeling section of our magazine. Martin has developed a broad network of worldwide contacts starting in the US coming across Europe and ending naturally in Japan. He is supported by | researchers, archives and veterans and his work has already resulted in two books, the first featuring the G4M “Betty” bomber and the second, released a year ago, dealing with the “Ki-46 Dinah’. “Apparently, Martin's books published by REVI are better known than our REVI bi-monthly magazine. With this book an English speaking reader gets part of material that has been available to Czech REVI readers in past 10 years. Si, Lo was the first one ever to witness the onset ofa new era in history of air combat. The Southern nation also colonized Kansai, and the frst Japanese dynasty ‘Yamato emerged from this population some 2,500 years ago. Its successors formally reign in Japan up to the present, Kanto was populated by the northem nation. Both regions struggled hard together. The Emperor's fesidence was in Ky6to and inhabitants of Kanto were treated as barbarians. In addition, the both regions also differed in dialect and culture including cuisine.
