2021 Auditions – Tasmania Australia

The following permanent, full time position will be auditioned by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra in
2021. The audition will be held via video recording only, with a potential live round in Hobart at a later
date.

Please Note: This position is only open to Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents of
Australia, or New Zealand Citizens.

Audition date:
Monday 3 May 2021 in Hobart, all applications are via video recording only. A live audition may take
place in Hobart at a later date for any candidate that the panel wishes to hear live.

Audition Requirements:
Set pieces:

• MOZART Concert no.4: 1st movement (up to the start of the recapitulation)
AND
• STRAUSS Concerto no.1b: from beginning until 8 bars after figure C

Orchestral Excerpts:

• (Please Note Orchestral Excerpts will be released on Monday 29 March, or 4 weeks prior to a
confirmed recording date, and upon receipt of a fully completed application)

Recorded Auditions:

(Please note: All recorded applications must be in a suitable format, please see the recorded application
guidelines. Excerpts will be released four weeks prior to a confirmed recording date and upon receipt of
completed application. All recordings must be received at the TSO soon after the recording date, and no
later than 4.00pm Wednesday 28 April 2021.)
