1. The penalties are as wide-ranging as the laws discussed above. Depending on the state and
applicable cyberbullying laws, sanctions could range anywhere from civil penalties, such as
school intervention via suspensions and/or expulsions, to jail time for felonies and even
some misdemeanors.
2. For computer-related fraud under the Cybercrime Act: penalty is imprisonment of six to
12 years and/or fine of at least PHP200,000

 Minors should tell a parent or a trusted adult.
 Collect evidence of conversations where you attempt to stop the harassment.
 Present documents to legal authorities.
 Change your email and passwords to keep your information secure.
 Block the cyber stalker on all social media.
 It is NOT suggested to meet your cyber stalker in person.
2. How to avoid online scams?
 Know who you're dealing with.
 Do not open suspicious texts, pop-up windows or click on links or attachments in
emails – delete them.
 Keep your personal details secure.
 Keep your mobile devices and computers secure.
 Choose your passwords carefully.
 Beware of any requests for your details or money.
 Be wary of unusual payment requests.
