Provide design, ‘materials, labour, equipment and services necessary to furnish, deliver and install al work of this section as shown on the drawings, specification herein, andior as required by site conditions andlor related Works. Acoustical Performance 1. All mechanical rooms, specified privacyihigh security areas and locations Indicated on the Drawings shall be installed with acoustical steel doors with a ‘minimum STC rating of 60 or as otherwise specified or as directed by the Architect 2. All acoustical doors identified as requiring seals, doors shall be installed with perimeter seals meeting lest requirements of ASTM E90-90 and ASTM E 1408- 91 Physical Endurance Performance Requirements 1. Review preparation and installation procedures, and coordinating and scheduling required with related Work |4. Record discussions of conference, decisions, and agreements (or disagreements) reached and furnish copy of record to each party attending and the Architect. Programme and indicate on the Construction Programme the Pre-Instalation Conference date Indoor Psychometic & Outoor Cimate Condens ‘The Main Contractor shall coordinate and ensure that all his subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturers are deemed to be familiar with indoor psychometric requirement and the climatic conditions prevailing in Mumbai, and to be aware of (2) The high temperature (up to 40°C) and the high relative humidity (up 10 95% RH). WARRANTY ‘The Main Contractor shall coordinate and encure that all his subcontractors, suppliers and Stee! Door Manufacturers shall jointly provide a ten (10) year warrenty ‘against materal defects, fre protection and workmanship for Work of this Section. ‘Material defects shall include, but not be limited to warpage, sagging, deterioration, delamination or defects, during the warranty period ‘The Main Contractor shall co-ordinate and ensure that nothing shall be done by all his Specialist SubContractor or other SubContractors, suppliers and manufacturers which will void any manufacturer's warranty, or invalidate the the specified Insurance andlor any other insurances arranged by the Contractor. SUBMITTAL ‘Submit samples and full shop drawings as required in Section 01300. In addition, provide size samples of each door panel showing core construction, edge treatment, face materials, and vision panel for each door type. Shop Drawings Indicate profiles, sizes, connection attachments, reinforcing, anchorage, core and edge construction 2. Include Sections and elevations in 1:20 scale and details in 1:2 scale. 3. Indicate locations ofall ntumescent and smoke seals, acoustic seals and cut ‘outs. Show details forall ronmongery installation, applied stone finishes and any other related work, 908100-3 12 ly 2013 1.08 ‘Submit fre and acoustic test certificate and assessments for each type of fire door assembly. Provide a full size sample of the door and door frame assembly with hinges, lock, handles and all equired smoke seals fited and installed for each type of door for the Architect's approval well in advance of commencement of work under this section on sito. DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING. Deliver and store on Site all steel doors only when the Works is completely enclosed, moisture-laden materials such as concrete, plaster, etc. are largely dry, and heating or cooling system are functioning to maintain uniform indoor psychometric conditions. Protect all steel doors from damage, staining, traffic and Work of other trades. Ensure that all door edges and corners are protected from chipping or other damage. Door leaves shall be stored flat on leveled 100 x 50 wood sleepers on length equal to {ull width of doors, Suppart sleepers shall be covered with cardboard to prevent marking of the bottom door. Ensure that all ire doors are affixed with Fire tesv/approval certificate metal labels, located in a position approved approved by the Architect, PART2 PRODUCTS 201 A 203 Wort APPROVED MANUFACTURERS Door Manufacturers Provide doors from one ofthe following manufacturer, with at least 10 years documented experience in the productionof high quality metal doors. DOOR FACE MATERIALS ‘Sheet Stee! Facing : The door leaf shall be of flush type, all edges seamless unless otherwise shown on the Drawings. The door leaf skins shall be fabricated from 4mm tro galvanised steel sheets (1. 5mm at extemal conditions) and with vertical galvanised steel V shaped stiffeners at minimum 200mm cls. The door leafs shall be shop primed with a 20 micron (minimum) zine phosphate primer. The base sheet 's to etch primed is so recommended by the paint manufacturer. The infill material ‘between the stffeners is as specified in tem 2.03. The door leat s to be provided with internal galvanised stee! reinforcement at all ronmongery positions, The minimum thickness of the reinforcement is to be 1.5mm. Double leaf doors shall have a folded steel (min. thickness 1.5mm) astragal, with overtap at the pul side, at ‘he push side the leaf should be seamiess. Il is t0 be noted that all ronmongery and weather seals are to be fully related into the door and frame construction, Stainless Stoel Metal Panel Facing 4. Type 316 hairline finish, 1.5mm thick minimum conforming to BS1449 : Part 2:1983 and BS4360. Refer to work included under Section 05700. DOOR CORE MATERIALS Insulation : The core materials is to be as required fo meet the specified door performance requirements, All doors are to be fully filed with insulation, incombustie mineral wool. The insulation provided under the goneral requirements fof section 07210. The insulation to have a minimum density of *50ka/cm3. All fice-rated steel doors shall be fire-tested and certified to rating as shown on the Drawings. Al fire-rated doors shail have non-removable fre labels mounted on the top of the door. Allfre-rated doors whether steel, metal or otherwise shall include lass vision panel complying with the prevailing Fire Code. Mumbai 0810-4 12 july 2013 . Doors for mechanical rooms and other specified areas, shall have a minimum STC rating of §0 of as otherwise spacified as or drected by the Architect, installed and be installed with fully rebated acoustical seals. 2.04 FABRICATION A. Fabricate all stee! doors to the following tolerances, i) Width tolerance +1mm ii) Height tolerance 2mm iii) Smoothness max. 0.1mm iv) Squareness max.0.1° B. All stee! doors shal be rigidly built and free from warp and buckle. The sheet shall be flat and completely free from any telegraphing of welds. . Select core materials from clause 2.03 above as required to meet the required fre or ‘acoustic performance, or manufacturer's equivalent, subject to Architects approval D. Neatly prepare and all steel doors to receive Ironmongery. in accordance with the recommendations of the ironmogery manufacturer, intumescent and smoke seals, ‘and weatherstripping provided under Section 08710 E, Prime and finish all cut-outs, recesses and grooves for door ironmongery, intumescent and smoke seals, and weatherstrioping. Allow adequate time for all doors to condition and acclimatise fo their psychometric environment prior to installation B. Install doors in accordance with fire rating approval requirements and manufacturer's instructions, C. Coordinate installation of doors with installation of ironmongery, intumescent, ‘acoustic and smoke seals, and weatherstrippings as specified in Section 08710, D. Doors to finished ready to receive finish painting under Section 09900 work. 3.03 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING ‘A. Protect all doors during and after installation until completion of the works with heavy {duty protection materal including all renmongery, signage and applied components. B. Protect all doors from the Work of other trades, trafic and weather to prevent damage, warpage, staining, ete C. The Main Contractor shall be solely responsible to repair, or if necessary replace, all damaged steel doors and accessories fo the approval of the Architect.
