INSIGHT PAPER on Writing Complaints and Pleadings

Writing Complaints and Pleadings are the heart and soul of being a lawyer.
Through these methods it will determine how knowledgeable you are about the laws,
jurisprudence and the facts of the case. It is vital for us to know how to write pleadings
and complaints in preparation to becoming a lawyer.

I know that some judges will only rely to the complaint or pleadings presented
by the counsel. So being a counsel, we must prepare our pleadings or complaints
thoroughly. Also, through these methods, it is another way of communication to the
opposing counsel or to the respondents or complainants.

That is why, while I am listening to Atty: Cortes discussing the importance of

legal writing, I feel so regretful about myself taking the subject for granted. I did not
take that subject seriously, but I took it for the sake of passing and not thinking that it
is kind of preparations.

Furthermore, the talk last Sunday made me realize what else do I need to
prepare for myself and need to improve such as, the constructions of my thoughts,
and how I will construct my argument. It is kind of additional knowledge for me to
prepare for the bar and to practice law.

Drafting an effective, persuasive, and well-pleaded complaint being an

important step in the litigation process suggests to also conform and comply with the
rules of court. Furthermore, it must be well-written, concise, and easily readable. It
must present the facts sufficient to support the claim and request for damages.
