Our vision
Inspiring everyone on the planet to know, use, and share the power of personality

A history built on partnerships

Their story began more than 50 years ago with the pairing of two psychology professors, Dr. John Davies Black and Dr. Harrison
Gough, who teamed up with a common goal: to use research-based psychological assessments to give people the insight and
guidance they need to develop both personally and professionally. Their partnership resulted in the creation of CPP, Inc., the
company formerly known as Consulting Psychologists Press.
But their roots reach even deeper than that. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® assessment was originally developed in 1943 by
Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers. Myers and Briggs were among the most prominent pioneers of
personality assessment. In 1975, CPP became the exclusive publisher of the Myers-Briggs instrument, which has since been revised
and updated several times. Today, the work of Myers and Briggs continues to have an extensive and lasting impact on organizational
psychology, company culture, management development, and employee satisfaction, helping businesses around the world increase
productivity.

Results that engage and inspire

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment is one of the world’s most popular personality tools—because it works. Used
by more than 88 percent of Fortune 500 companies in 115 countries, and available in 29 languages, it has become the go-to
framework for people development globally. With more than 70 years of science-based, research-based insight, the MBTI
assessment is a robust tool for self-awareness and improvement. It provides positive language for understanding and valuing
individual differences. With practical insight that’s easy to understand and implement, the MBTI assessment has helped thousands
of organizations and millions of people around the world improve how they communicate, learn, and work.

Powering productivity
The MBTI assessment can transform how people work together. Only 14 percent of executives believe that the traditional model of
a hierarchical organization is effective. Forward-looking leaders are moving to a flexible, team-focused model.* MBTI insights
enhance personal development, supporting team and leadership training, conflict management, career change, and transitions.
Multinational companies value the common language the Myers-Briggs assessment provides for discussing interpersonal
differences, making it the preferred choice for training and development programs around the world.

How the MBTI assessment works

Through a series of questions, the MBTI assessment helps you identify your natural preferences in four areas of personality:

• How do you direct and receive energy—by focusing on the outside world, interacting with people and taking action, or by
focusing on your inner world and reflecting on ideas, memories, and experiences?
• How do you take in information—by focusing on what you perceive using your five senses or by seeing the big picture and
looking for relationships and patterns?
• How do you decide and come to conclusions—by logically analyzing the situation or by considering what’s important to the
people involved?
• How do you approach the outside world—in a planned, orderly way or a more flexible, spontaneous way?

Online and Paper Based II
(144 Questions; approx. 25-35 mins)

MBTI Step II is the result of many years of research and

observation that began with Isabel Myers' development of the
MBTI personality inventory in the 1940s. The basic versions of
the Indicator (Form M and the earlier Form G) yield type
descriptions distinguishing the sixteen types from one another
but offer relatively few clues as to how people of the same
type may differ. In adding items that were not scored for four-
letter type, Myers' intent was to enable exploration and
identification of individuality within each of the sixteen types.
She was in the process of developing this aspect of her work
more fully at the time of her death in 1980."

Measuring Results of MBTI® Type
Measure the impact of your MBTI® training and evaluate return on
investment

In today's resource-strapped, results-oriented organizations,

executives and training professionals urgently need to know—and
show—the ROI on their training programs. But tracking down the
answer has been out of reach for many—until now.
In this much-anticipated practitioner's booklet, Richard Wagner, a 20-
year veteran of global HR consulting and professor of management at
the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Robert Weigand,
director of management training and development at St. Luke's
Hospital and Health Network, offer an easy-to-use instrument for ROI
analysis: the Wagner-Weigand ROI Survey. Based on a model used at
St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, Wagner and Weigand's work
approaches the corporate holy grail of developing a methodology for
6175 determining ROI on HR initiatives using the MBTI® assessment. 130
Wagner and Weigand's ROI analysis includes the following five steps:
• Determining behavioral changes that will result from
training
• Determining organizational results that might be improved
• Examining how changes affect revenue and costs
• Identifying data to support revenue and cost estimates
• Linking behavioral changes to results being measured

The booklet includes an introduction to ROI and generalized

discussion; exploration of the Wagner-Weigand model and theory;
presentation of the ROI Survey and guidelines for its use; a sample
case demonstrating actual application of the survey; and sample
group exercises. With Measuring Results of MBTI® Type Training: ROI
in Action, HR professionals and practitioners finally have the tools to
not only understand and measure the ROI of their MBTI training but
also establish tangible results that prove the effectiveness of their
training program.
