Dear Parents,

My name is Vivian Nguyen, and I’m excited to announce that your student will be in my second
grade class this year! I can’t wait to meet you and your student at Meet the Teacher Night on August
6th at 6pm. You may bring in your student’s school supplies then, or they can bring them in on the
first day of school on August 11th. You can find the school supply list below.
I am looking forward to an exciting school year! We’re going to learn new concepts, create
exciting projects, and get to know new community members. In math, we’ll learn about
measurements, money, and math facts. In ELA, we’ll read lots of terrific books and learn about types
of books, how to write narratives, as well as new vocabulary! In science and social studies, we’ll learn
all about living and nonliving things and what it means and looks like to be a good citizen. It is my
goal to provide all students with a welcoming, fun, empowering environment full of learning.
