mass.
• It can change from one state to another if
heated or cooled.

Physical Change
Temperature is important for this change.
1. Melting
When some solids are heated until a certain level,
they may change their state from solid to liquid.

2. Solidification
When a liquid is cooled until a certain level, it may
change its state from liquid to solid.

3. Vaporization
When a liquid is heated until a certain level, it may
change its state from liquid to gas.

Two ways of Vaporization:

1. Evaporation
It is a natural process wherein the liquid at the
surface changes to gas.

2. Boiling
A change of state from liquid to gas that happens
when a liquid is heated until it reaches its boiling
point.

4. Condensation
When a gas is cooled until a certain level, it may
change its state from gas to liquid.

5. Sublimation
When solids are heated until a certain level, they
may change their state from solid to gas directly
without being a liquid first.

6. Deposition
When some gases are cooled until a certain level,
they may change their state from gas to solid
directly without being a liquid first.
