Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Welcome to a new year at our school. I am pleased and honored to be your child’s 7th Grade
Texas History teacher! I am truly looking forward to working with and getting to know each one
of my students and their families this school year. This school year I encourage students to
participate in our historical exploration, as I will do my best to make learning intriguing,
relevant, and fun!

Students will enhance their knowledge and skills learned in previous content, by engaging
activities that use a variety of new social studies skills and content Every student will be
challenged everyday with rigorous and meaningful instruction that is aligned with the state
content standards. I believe that all students can achieve excellence and expect that every student
will put forth his or her best effort each and every day. This type of learning, however, can only
take place with full cooperation by all involved.

This behavior can be achieved through organization, structure, and routine lead. Therefore, I
have established a variety of classroom procedures. Your child will be taught these procedures,
and we will practice these routines over the upcoming weeks. I have established similar routines
to establish procedures for myself which will help my students know what to expect each day.

Students will be notified in advance of homework, lessons, assessments, and other aspects of our
class. Announcements and assignments will be posted weekly on our Googleclassroom website.
In addition, our class syllabus will be sent home for parents to stay informed about our entire
school year activities and due dates.

I will provide the best instruction possible for my students. However, my dedication is expected
to be matched by the students as stated in our student contract. Lastly, I look forward to learning
more about each and everyone one of you reading this letter. If you have questions, comments,
or concerns, I can be reached by email at alvarezjocelinne@gmail.com. Once again welcome to
our social studies class, let's work together to make it a great year with new learning
opportunities.

Sincerely,

Ms. Alvarez
