This review text of movie entitled Cinderella is submitted to fulfill one
of the writing practice.
First of all the writer would like to express her sincere gratitude and
respect to her English teacher, Mrs. Hj. Tia Gartina. S. Pd. who teach
the student well and give a guidance to do this task.
Hopefully, this would complete my task and improve the student’s

IV. Film Review
Ella is a beautiful girl who has a peaceful family until her mother
passed away when she was a little girl because of ill. Before her
mother dead, she was taught to be courage and show kindness to the
others. Her father marries again with Lady Tremaine who has two
daughter Drisella and Anastasia.
Soon after, her father who is a merchant sent abroad for a business trip
and makes Ella sad. After that Lady Tremaine begin to show her true
side who is cruel and wicked, persuading Ella to live in the attic and let
her daughter have her room. All of a sudden somebody came to Ella’s
house and told her father was passed away in a middle of a trip.
Desperate to money, Lady Tremaine fired all the servants and forces
Ella to work like a servant. In this phases Lady Tremaine became a
more wicked and cruel, so do her daughter. Ella eats with leftover food
from them. One day she left home and crying because of their cruelty,
in the forest she meets a prince (named as Kit) who are go for hunting.
They falling in love in their first sight. On learning that he has a little
time, the king insist him to find a bride to an upcoming ball. Although
Kit is arranged to marry princess Chelina of a neighboring kingdom he
can’t get over that mysterious girl that he find on the forest (Ella) and
persuades his father to let every eligible maiden in the land attend.
After the ball is announced, Ella refuses to buy a dress by his step
mother so she fixes up her mother dress. When she on the way out to
join her step family, Lady Tremaine not allows servant girl like her go
to the ball and tearing Ella’s dress. Ella run into the garden and crying
then she meets an old beggar that asked her for a food. After an old
beggar drink she told Ella that she is her fairy godmother and use her
magic to reveal her true form like her mother told Ella that magic is
really exist. Then she change a pumpkin into a magnificent carriage, a
lizard and a swan become Ella’s servant and a mouse become a horses.
And fairy god mother also use her magic to transform Ella with blue
gown and pair of a glass slipper. Before sending her on her way to the
palace the fairy godmother tell Ella that the spell only lasts until
midnight.
At the ball everyone look at Ella’s beautifulness and so does the prince
that waits for her too. And she wins the prince’s first dance. But her
stepfamily didn’t recognize her yet. After dancing they tour the palace.
When the prince about to ask her name, the bell is ringing and the
midnight has coming. Cinderella run from the palace on a rush that
makes her glass slipper left behind.
After that, the king dies and the prince has to find his bride then he
decrees that every maiden in the kingdom to try the shoe. After a
thousands woman and houses that the Grand duke visiting there’s no
foot that fit in, then one house left is Ella’s house. Drisella and
Anastasia trying really hard to fit in but they didn’t make it, although
Ella was hidden in the attic by her stepmother her voices heard by
prince and then she try the shoe and fit in her foot.
After that prince and Ella is marry and live happily ever after.
Cinderella is a American romantic fantasy film directed by Kenneth
Branagh with a screen play written by Chris Weitz. Produced by David
Barron, Simson Kinberg and Allison Shearmur for Walt Disney
Pictures, the story is based on Charles Perrault’ famous folktale
This is a good movie with an enchanting costumes that shows an old-
fashion. The setting is really brought me into those era. And the main
character, Ella, is really has a natural beautiful like usual Cinderella
should be. The stepmother really has an antagonist face that fit in with
her character. Those evil laugh she made is so evil, and reflect her as a
wicked stepmother. So does her costumes, I am so in love with her
looks. But I don’t like the prince because I think the actor is not really
fit in to be the prince, because he is not enough charming for me. But
for me this movie is really boring because the plot is lifted from the
common Cinderella folks with no different at all.
