Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Kahoot! engages students by allowing them to take the lead and be
accountable for their own success. It allows students to monitor their progress and reflect as feedback is
immediate. Students can answer the questions at their own pace within the time frame. The Kahoot! is
authentic because the questions on it will be the same ones that the students will be later assessed on.
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
The teacher will explain what Kahoot! is, and how it will help the class review for the upcoming unit
assessment. After that, students will be asked to get out an electronic device such as a computer or phone
that can access the internet. If they do not have one, one will be provided to them.

Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☐ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☒ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

Students will need a mobile device or computer to access the Kahoot! As the teacher, a smartboard is
necessary to display the Kahoot! Students will login to the Kahoot! using the access code provided. They will
answer the questions from the board, on their device, as they appear. The teacher will read the questions

aloud and monitor students to ensure they are on-track and to ensure comprehension. The teacher will go
over each question after the results are in. The activity will take approximately the whole class period and will

Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):

☒ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?
I will have the correct answers shown after my students answer the questions. Since this is a review game I
want my students to be able to see the correct answers immediately so they can study.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
We will review all the questions as we go thru them, so we won’t have to go through the answers after the
Kahoot! Is complete the top three students will be displayed on the screen. This will keep the students
engaged as they will want to be in the top three.
How will the data be used?
Student scores are collected throughout the duration of the Kahoot!. As the teacher, I am able to see the
progress of my students and their scores. The data is presented individually to each student as a score to
show progress throughout the Kahoot! as well. At the end of the Kahoot! Students will have a better idea of
how well they know the material and how much they need to study based on their Kahoot! score.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
My personal learning goal is to have the students have an easy and fun time reviewing their future
assessment material through a Kahoot! game. I hope that by playing the game, students will stay engaged and
focus on answering the questions correctly.
Reflective Practice: After designing this lesson idea, how do you feel the activities you created could impact
student learning? You may have designed this idea as an introductory activity to a unit of study. With that in
mind, what could be done to further extend the lesson? Are there other technology tools that could further
enhance this project?
