Constraints for teachers in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Covid 19 pandemic has hit the whole world and is influential in various fields.
Especially in the field of education. Since the social distancing policy was implemented to
reduce the spread of Covid 19, the Government has continued to urge people to carry out all
activities at home.

In the field of education, the home study policy is a solution that is implemented by
all schools at various levels. In this case, not only teachers and students are involved in online
learning at home but parents are also involved to assist their children when learning online at
home.

The main obstacle felt by some teachers was that they had difficulty controlling their
students because not all students or guardians had cell phones and internet access. Not to
mention the ongoing exam without being face to face.

Many teachers and student guardians choose to use the Whatsapp application as a
means of online learning. In order to monitor student learning progress, each teacher has a
class group that is used to carry out and monitor online learning. Because most students
cannot access various applications. Through the use of the Whatsapp application, teachers
can send various kinds of materials and assignments, in various formats such as photos, video
links and voice messages.

When learning online, the teacher must choose learning materials with extras so that
there are no misconceptions between the teacher and the student's or student's guardian when
studying the material. On the other hand, teachers must also look at the basic competencies
that students must master. So that the making of material during online learning must be done
optimally.

Online learning activities will run smoothly, if students are always under the
supervision of both teachers and parents. In the first month of online learning activities,
parents give full attention to their children. However, in the following months the supervision
from parents began to decrease. This happens because at the same time parents of students
also have to divide their time between working, taking care of the house and supervising
children's learning. Parents also think that if the assignment has been sent to the teacher, the
teaching and learning activities will also finish that day, this results in one-way
communication.
