INTRODUCTION
Aside from knowledge in writing, this subject will also equip you with the skills
and values needed in dealing with the issues of your day- to- day life. With this, it is
hoped that you will be able to engage and involve yourself in causes that effect changes
in society by simply looking beyond contexts.
LEARNING MAP
The whole semester is divided into two quarters which revolve around five major
headings: 1. Reading Academic Texts; 2. Writing the Reaction/Review/Critique Paper;
3. Writing the Concept Paper; 4. Writing the Position Paper; and 5. Writing the Report

develop their coping
mechanisms, you may tell and
show them some
encouragements and advices
by making a motivational video
(maximum of 10 mins.) and a
narrative report (three (3) to five
(5) paragraphs).
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
This Self-Learning Packet (SLP) is your way this semester to master Academic
Writing. Hence, it is very helpful for you to accomplish each and every activity in it.
Following the guidelines below will facilitate you towards the fulfillment of this end.
1. You should accomplish the Pre-test of this SLP for it will tell how prepared you are in
taking this course.
2. This SLP is divided into parts and each will help you master the lesson that aims for
the development of your cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills.
Let’s Fortify – This section motivates and makes you ready for
the lesson.
Let’s Explore – It has the information or details about the lesson that
you need.
Let’s Practice – It is the HANDS-ON Activity that will assess your ability
in applying what you have learned.
Let’s Imbibe – It is the HEARTS-ON Activity that aims to instill values in you.
Let’s Reflect – This section lets you express what you have in mind
regarding the lesson.
Let Me Know – This section gives the opportunity for the teachers, you
and your parents to tell or share feedbacks, comments,
concerns, and suggestions.
References – This is where you can see the references used in the
SLP.
3. The last part of the SLP encourages you to practice academic integrity by writing the HONOR
CODE PLEDGE.
Aside from the module, you will also use Schoology as our learning platform. This is where we
will conduct our Synchronous Class where you are expected to attend regularly. There will also
be a Consultation Period that gives you the opportunity to ask questions and to raise concerns.
You will just request for a schedule through your Adviser.
Always remember that Education is not just the reflection of your name,
but also the reflection of how you build it.
Learning never stops, and it is always there to help you reach your full potential.
It will be easy if you make yourself armoured with God’s love, guidance and support.
