Q1. I couldn’t find the reference to this equation.

Please, would you refer me the paper for this

equation?

Ans: the equation is not refer to the paper, it is obtained by curve fit,you can use matlab to fit the
line.
Q2. How to hook these UDFs in the fluent?

I tried using the method as shown

below:

Cell Zone conditions>select fluid>

snow>edit> tick on source terms, but

only mass source can be applied.

Should it be directly applied on mixture?

Ans: k source and e source are not hooked into the fluent now, you don’t need to hook it. If you are
interested in hook k and e source, you can read the fluent theory guide.
Q3. Whenever I press initialize the previous values changes for me. My simulation results are also
different from that of the tutorial video.

Before initialization After Initialization

Ans: you should read the udf file before simulating snow drift, and the result of your simulation
highly depend on the parameters defined by udf file, for example, wind velocity, threhold friction
velocity, etc.

Q4. My simulation results: ☹…

Can you send me the correct file, I think Monsan’s file has some errors. I cross-checked the
domain_id as well as zone_id from code and fluent. They are also correct, still the results are bad.
The iteration also converges too quickly(around 1400). Thank you for helping me.
