2) Wt. of Mould (g) =

3) Wt. of surface dry sample (g) (A) =

4) Required Penetration (mm) =

5) Maximum load (kN) =

6) Wt. of Retained on…………..mm sieve + Pan After test (g) =

7) Wt. of Pan. (g) =

8) Wt. of Retained on ………………..mm Sieve after test(g) (a) =
9) Wt. of fraction Passing ……………mm Sieve (A-a) (B) =
10) Percentage of fines B/A X100 =
11) Force required to produce ten percent fines =

X = the maximum force (kN)

Y = mean percentage fine from two test at the X (kN) Force.

NOTE: If test 1 gives the percentage of fine between 7.5 to 12.5 repeat the test using the same max. force
Otherwise calculate the force to get the fines within the range. Make a repeat test. Report to the nearest 10 kN for
Force of 100kN or more to the nearest 5kN of less than 100kN.
