1. Reading: Read the following text and send the voice note. (5 points)

The US virus death toll has surpassed 50,000, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, in
what is the world's deadliest Covid-19 outbreak.

More than 3,000 deaths came in the last 24 hours, and there are now over 870,000 confirmed
cases nationwide.

But the US still has a lower mortality rate than most European nations based on current case
counts, as the White House task force has emphasized.

The grim news comes as parts of the US reopen after weeks of lockdown.

2. Listening: Listen to the recording and answer the questions. (6 points)

Sue Thomas is a fashion designer. She has been making clothes ever since she was a young girl.
She got her first job in a clothes factory when she was sixteen. She was sewing buttons onto a shirt
one day when she had a brilliant idea for a design- After she had contacted her bank manager, she
got a loan and she opened her own little workshop. Now she is making lots of money. Next year
she is going to open a shop which will sell all her own designs. She has sold clothes to a lot of
famous people, including film stars and singers, and she thinks she will be very rich soon.

4. What has President Maduro said about the quarantine and what is happening in the country
