“Business: Story of Teresa Le”

The video is headlined “Business: Story of Teresa Le”.  This is an interview with a middle-aged
business woman, who was able to successfully open a restaurant of her own all by herself. The interview
was published as a training exercise for Language Leader Intermediate Programme. The main idea of the
video is to show the struggles of a woman who is not only an immigrant, but a complete foreigner, to have a
special place of her own. The aim of the publication is to provide the viewer with some interesting stories,
tips and advice from the owner of a successful chain of Vietnamese-based food cafes. This video shows an
interview between a reporter and main character, Teresa Le, who tells us her very own story of success.

According to the video, there are several chapters of these small conversations. The video greets us
with a basic introduction of the businesswoman.  Firstly, she explains how she wanted to make something of
her own and to create her own project. Video explains how she started from basic recipies to easy-to-learn
tutorials and cooking lessions for her friends.

Furthermore, Teresa explains more about her business. She tells the meaning of the name. “LaDuDu”
meaning a “papaya leaf” in Vietnamese. She says that her friends helped her with financial support, making
it a shareholder business. The video goes on to explain how she originally had to make a menu for herself
and how she is doing now, having Chefs invited to work for her restaurant. She even goes on to say that she
was inspired by Jamie Oliver and like him, wants to publish a book of recipies for herself.

I found the interview interesting because it explains to viewers how to become like her and for others to
show how you can make a business even from the simplest of scratches.

Overall, if you take few notes from this video you can easily try to make your own startup, even from your
own kitchen.
