and related division facts.
 SLO 6: Demonstrate an understanding of multiplication (2- or 3-digit by 1-digit) to solve problems by:
• using personal strategies for multiplication with and without concrete materials

 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson students will be able to:

1. Use mental math strategies to solve basic multiplication facts during mental math games..
2. Use mental math strategies to solve 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication problems by using personal
strategies.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

 Smart Board
 Among Us Puzzle Materials (Colour codes, math questions, puzzle sheets)
 Pencil crayons

PROCEDURE

Introduction Time

Explain to students that today we will be doing a puzzle mystery activity and playing 5 min 
multiplication math games.
 Body Time

Among Us Explain to students that we have been given the task to solve this mystery 50 min
Mystery puzzle. It requires us to solve various multiplication equations in order to figure
Puzzle out what colours go where.
Step 1: Solve the multiplications
Step 2: Search the results and find the colors
Step 3: Colour the pieces according to the code
Step 4: Assemble the puzzle

Conclusion Time  

Clean up Give students a 5 minute transition warning. 5 min  

Ask students to clean up all materials and summarize one strategy they used to
solve their equations.
