1. Personal Pronouns
Form:
Subject Pronouns I You He She It We You They
Object Pronouns me you him her it us you them
Use:
Thay thế cho danh từ từ khi không cần thiết sử dụng hoặc lặp lại chính xác danh từ hoặc cụm danh từ đó.
Ex:
Anna lives in Singapore. She will move to Korea next year.
Tell John I will take him home.
2. Possessive Pronouns
Form:
Personal Pronouns I You He She It We You They
Possessive Pronouns mine yours his hers x ours yours theirs
Use:
Không có danh từ phía sau
Thay thế cho Tính từ sở hữu + Danh từ
Ex:
Can I borrow your keys? I can’t find mine. [mine = my key]
You are using my pen. Where’s yours? [yours = your pen]
3. Reflexive and Emphatic Pronouns
Form:
Personal Pronouns I You He She It We You They
Reflexive and myself yourself himself herself itself ourselves yourselves themselves

Dùng làm tân ngữ của động từ khi chủ từ và tân ngữ là cùng 1 đối tượng
Ex:
I look at myself in the mirror
When her parents passed away, she took care of herself.
Emphatic Pronouns:
Có hình thức của đại từ phản thân dùng để nhấn mạng danh từ hoặc đại từ
Đại từ nhấn mạng thường đứng sau từ được nhấn mạnh với nghĩa là “chính người đó/ vật đó”
Ex:
I myself do this homework.
The movie itself wasn’t very good, but I like the music.
Notes:
Khi nhấn mạng chủ ngữ, đại từ nhấn mạng có thể đứng cuối câu
I saw him do it myself = I myself saw him do it.
By +oneself = alone, without help
He likes living by himself
I can do it by myself
4. Demonstrative Pronouns
Form: this/ that/ these/ those
Use:
Chỉ định sự vật hoặc giới thiệu ai đó
Ex:
These are my photos
This coat is black
5. Interrogative Pronouns
Form:
Là các từ để hỏi WHO/WHAT/ WHOM/ WHICH/ …
Use:
Đứng ở đầu câu và luôn đi trước động từ
Who keeps this money?
Whom is this?
6. Relative Pronouns
Form:
Là các đại từ WHO/ WHOSE/ WHICH/ THAT
Use:
Dùng để thay thế cho danh từ đi trước và nối mệnh đề chính và mệnh đề phụ trong liên hệ
Ex:
The girl which I taked to yesterday is Lisa.

Form:
Someone/ anyone/ everyone/ no one
Somebody/ anybody/ everybody/ nobody
Something/ anything/ everything/nothing
9. Reciprocal Pronouns
Form: each other/ one another
Use:
Chỉ mối quan hệ qua lại giữa hai hoặc nhiều người
Ex:
A and B don’t like each other.
They sat for 2 hours without taking to one another.
