What can young people do to protect and improve their local environment?

Although these days the government raises people’s awareness about ecological danger, I believe that
young people still need to take care of the area they live in.

There are some ideas for encouraging teenagers to protect their local environment. Firstly, we can
recycle things so that there will not be much waste. As far as I know, there are annual recycling events in
schools over the world. For instance, you can bring old copybooks.

Secondly, car fumes have a huge impact on our surroundings. Therefore, why not cycling and walking
rather than using vehicles? If we do so, there will be less air pollution.

Furthermore, economize electricity can greatly affect whole society. All we have to do is turning off the
lights when not needed or use solar panels. In this way, we can save natural resources.

To sum up, I consider that by doing these small things, young people can significantly improve their
environment, as it is crucial for future generations.
