General Dealing Procedures/Rules

1. The Dealer will deliver one card, face down, to each player with an Ante
and Odds bet (below the Odds Bet Box), starting with the player furthest
to the Dealer’s left and then dealing clockwise around the table until all of
the players and Dealer have received one card each (See Figure 1).

Figure 1

2. The player’s second card will be dealt to each active spot (placed and
stepped on top of the previous card). The dealer’s cards will be stepped in
a sideways fashion next to and on top of the previous card. This process
will continue until each player and dealer has received two cards (See
Figure 2).

General Dealing Procedures/Rules

3. Once the 2nd card has been delivered to the Dealer’s hand, the Dealer will
deal face down five ‘Community’ Cards in between the dealers cards and
the players betting area with a gap between each card. (See Figure 3)

Figure 3

4. Once the ‘Community’ Cards have been delivered, the Dealer will place the
remaining cards with the cut card still on the bottom into the discard
holder (See Figure 4).

5. The dealer will then, starting from left to right, push together into one pile
each of the players’ two cards (See Figure 5).

Figure 5

6. Players may then pick up their cards and decide if they wish to Raise or
check.

7. A check will be signaled by either tapping the table with the hand or with
the cards, *a physical signal must be received*

8. Players deciding to Raise will tuck the corner of their cards under the
Odds Bet. The players will then place 3x their Ante on top of the Raise
Bet (See Figure 6).

General Dealing Procedures/Rules

9. Once all players has either Raised or checked the dealer will reveal the
first three ‘Community’ cards – called the Flop. (See Figure 7)

Figure 7

10. The process of each player Raising or checking will then be repeated. If
a player wishes to Raise after the flop they can bet 2x their Ante bet on
the Raise Bet, once again tucking their cards under the Odds Bet.

11.Once all players have Raised or checked a second time, the last two
‘Community’ cards will be exposed – called the River. (See Figure 8).

Figure 8

12.Players that have not yet Raised will now have the option to Raise 1x
(even) with the Ante (again tucking their cards under the Odds Bet) or
to Fold.

General Dealing Procedures/Rules

13.Players will fold by placing their cards down on the table in front of the
Ante and Odds boxes. Dealers should verify that a player is folding prior
to picking up the player’s hand and placing it into the discard rack (See
Figure 9).

Figure 9

14.If the player is playing the Trips Plus bet and/or Pocket Bonus bet
and folds, their cards should be tucked under the Trips Plus bet
and/or Pocket Bonus bet and all other only the Ante and Odds bets
should be collected as both these side bets pay regardless of the
dealers hand as long as the players hand meets the qualifying
criteria for one or both bets.

15.Once all players have Raised or folded, the dealer will expose both of their
two ‘Hole’ Cards and establish if they have a pair or better using the five
‘Community cards to make the best five cards hand.

16.Once established the dealer should announce the hand they have.

17. The dealer qualifies with a pair or better (Figure 10)

Figure 10

WPT Heads Up Hold’Em – Dec, 2015

General Dealing Procedures/Rules

18.If the dealer doesn’t qualify the Ante bets will be returned to all players
before looking at any players cards

CAUTION 1 – WPT Heads Up Hold’em handles qualifying differently

than other games. When the dealer doesn’t qualify, it’s not an
automatic win for the player

19.The dealer will then open the player’s cards starting from left to right,
establishing what the best five card hand is that they have made and
noting whether it beats the dealers five card hand.

CAUTION 2 – Establishing the 5 Card hands from the 7 available

cards will be the most difficult part of dealing this game and must
be taken slowly while becoming accustomed to the game.

20.Players failing to beat the dealers hand will lose their Raise, Ante and
Odds in that order. (Only Raise and Odds if the Dealer did not qualify)

21.If the hands tie then Raise, Ante and Odds push.

22.If the Player has a straight or better but is beaten by the dealer the ‘Bad
Beat’ payout comes into play. The Odds bet will remain in play and the
Bad Beat payout will be paid – See HH15 for Rules and Payouts.

23.The Trips Plus and Pocket Bonus bet’s pay regardless of the dealers hand
as long as the player hand meets the criteria. Losing if anything else.

24.Players beating the dealers hand will be paid as per section “Paying Bets”

25.As soon as the game has no more players the deck of cards must be put
back in order (hearts, clubs, diamond, spades) and spread in a continuous
line face up on the layout to verify that the deck is complete (See Figure
11).

Figure 11

26.Passing or throwing chips from hand to hand is prohibited.

WPT Heads Up Hold’Em – Dec, 2015

General Dealing Procedures/Rules

27.As a general rule we do not take chips or cash directly from a player’s
hand. Rather we would politely ask them to set them down. However in
some circumstances, IE a novice player or a non English speaking guest it
will be permissible to wave this procedure in order to avoid unnecessary
confusion/embarrassment on the players part. In this circumstance it is
imperative the Dealer clears his/her hands prior to taking the chips or cash
from the guest.
