Number Sense

My mid-term topic will be about number sense, number sense is a group of skills that allow

children to work with numbers to develop initial math skills. Number sense helps children

understand what quantities are, the concept of grasping, more, less, larger and small. Number

sense also gives children the opportunity to recognize relationships between individual items and

groups of items, understand the symbols that represent quantities (7 is the same as seven), make

comparisons of numbers (12 is more than 10 and four is half of eight), and understand the order

of numbers in a list: 1st, 2ndr, 3rd etc.
