I am concerned that your decision to make a series of documentary programmes about unusual

hobbies will be a success because during the pandemic it is very important not to lose interest in
life and to make it brighter. What is more, people are used to having banal(sounds a bit offensive
– usual,common) hobbies like fishing or knitting. That is why they are looking forward to getting
something new. In response to your request, I am writing to suggest my ideas for two of these
programmes.
Extreme underwater ironing
The first programme can be focused on an extreme underwater ironing (uncountable). It is an
extreme sport in which people take ironing boards to remote locations and iron items of clothing.
This hobby is known to be becoming more and more popular especially abroad. The clothes are
certain to stay wet. The key point here is that people watching this series enjoy looking at
colourful diversity of of underwater habitats and as a consequence get positive emotions.
Besides, it is a good way to look at household chores from the bright side of life and to see that
even ordinary things can be joyful.
Micro-sculptures
The second programme, as far as I see, can be about making micro-sculptures. It is quite a new
type of art but it has already deserved many people’s love. The size of a miniature can be not
(cannot be) more than the eye of a needle. It is amazing to watch the process of modeling and
constructing such tiny things when a sculptor is slowing his breathing or is painting some details
between heartbeats. The audience will like to see how well-known huge objects like the Eiffel
Tower or Giza Pyramid are becoming so small. To my mind, it is fascinating. Furthermore, this
hobby also shows how significant small could be. I can assure you that a lot of viewers will be
inspired with by this idea.

Undoubtedly, these ideas will be warmly welcomed by viewers all over the world. The hobbies
are positive and related to art. For that reason, they may affect people’s mood and psychological
health in a good way. In addition, they are modern and unusual so people are likely to keep up
with the times and find their passion.
