NOTICE
Component freezing occurs if CT system is exposed to temperatures below 0C for a period
longer than two days. Allow a minimum of 12 hours for the CT system to adjust to ambient
room temperature, prior to installation. (It’s better to keep the CT system in transportation
packaging for 12 hours for acclimatization.)
Specifications
During installation, use the temperature/humidity recorder and a thermometer to record the temperature and relative
humidity in the scan room. Make sure the data you collect meets the following temperature and humidity specifica-
tions.
Site Preparation
GANTRY / SCAN ROOM:
• Temperature : 20C ~ 28 C (at least 5 C/hr gradient)
• Relative Humidity : 30 ~ 70 % RH
OPERATOR’S CONTROL / EQUIPMENT ROOM:
• Temperature : 15C ~ 30C (at least 5 C/hr gradient)
• Relative Humidity : 20 ~ 80 % RH
• Air conditioning of the building may be sufficient.
Instrument
Use the same instrument (Dranetz, etc.) to monitor line voltage during this check that you used during the preinstal-
lation check. The recommended line analyzer is the Dranetz Model 606-3 (3 channel) with the 101 frequency option,
or Dranetz Model line monitor plug in modules. You can use a similar analyzer, as long as it can monitor and report
mean voltage, surges, sags, short term impulses, and frequency drift.

Note
Before you start the installation, make sure the site preparation complies with conditions and in-
structions found in the pre-installation manual. Failure to comply will result in excessive installation
delay and potential increased, un-recoverable installation costs. This product is designed to meet
specific mechanical installation standards, which should be reviewed prior to installing this system.

Possible injury!
If the cover dolly fall over, they can injure persons. Therefore, after using the cover dolly,
keep them in a safe place and/or secure them from falling over even when the customer or
other persons accidentally hit the cover dolly.
NOTICE
Potential for front and rear covers damage.
Front and rear covers removal and installation can be safely accomplished by one person
using the dollies provided with the system. Failure to use these dollies will significantly in-
crease the likelihood of damage to the covers. Do not lean covers against walls.

4. Remove the two transportation supports from the gantry base by unscrewing four bolts.
5. To fix gantry position for anchoring.
Method 1 (Recommended)
a. Move the Gantry to the appropriate position of the scan room and lower the Gantry on the floor.
b. Scribe a mark at each of the gantry’s anchor hole locations, and then move the Gantry away.
c. Align two transportation supports’ holes to meet marks on the floor.

c. Clear debris of the hole several times while drilling to prevent the drill bit from binding.
NOTICE
During drilling, use the transportation supports always keep the drill bit perpendicular to the
floor.
Or During drilling, not use the transportation supports. With one person drilling the hole,
the second person can visually insure perpendicularity throughout the drilling operation.
NOTICE
If any obstruction is found under the proper anchoring position, stop drilling and use the al-
ternate position. Use the alternate positions only in the case where its corresponding prop-
er position is not possible. (See Illustration 3-10)

WARNING
ELECTROCUTION ! TURN OFF THE SWITCH OF THE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX AND TAG
IT TO VERIFY THAT ALL POWER IS DISCONNECTED TO THE SYSTEM.
When performing system and ground wiring, ensure that all wiring conforms to the information contained in this
manual, in particular to the tables and illustrations contained in this section. The tables in this section list:
• All contractor supplied cables
• System furnished cables
• GEHW Supplied cable Part Numbers
The illustrations provide detailed information on the actual connector and terminal strip locations. Illustrations
include :
• System Interconnect Diagram
• OC Cable Connection
• Gantry Cable Connection
1. Verify that all ground wiring and other contractor wiring are complete to the point of equipment placement.
2. Check for reasonable cable routing. Don’t forget to leave enough cable take-up for equipment maintenance,
etc. Perform as neatly a job as possible.
Note
Keep signal and control cables away from power cables and power wiring. When laying cables in
a raceway, locate the signal cables in a separate section of the raceway.
3. Verify that both ends of each cable are clean cut and properly located before terminating and connecting them.
4. Ensure that all connections are tight. Use suitable tools. Check and tighten all visible connections, especially
ground connections.
NOTICE
Attach a tie-wrap to each system cable within 30 mm of each terminal end.
NOTICE
Check all the ground connections on the system for tightness and proper termination.
Check ground connection at the power supply transformer in a hospital. Check ground from
transformer to its earth connection.

CLASS 1 EQUIPMENT
Any permanently installed equipment containing operator or patient accessible surfaces must provide backup
protection against electric shock,in case the BASIC INSULATION fails. In addition to BASIC INSULATION,Class1
equipment contains a direct connection to a PROTECTIVE(EARTH) CONDUCTOR which prevents shocks when a
person touches a broken piece of equipment or touches two different equipment surfaces simultaneously.
TYPE B EQUIPMENT
CLASS I, II, or III EQUIPMENT or EQUIPMENT with INTERNAL ELECTRICAL POWER SOURCES provide an
adequate degree of protection against electric shock arising from (allowable) LEAKAGE CURRENTS or a
breakdown in the reliability of the protective earth connection.
ORDINARY EQUIPMENT
Enclosed EQUIPMENT without protection against the ingress of water.
OPERATION 0f EQUIPMENT
CONTINUOUS OPERATION WITH INTERMITTENT LOADING.
Operation in which EQUIPMENT is connected continuously to the SUPPLY MAINS.The stated permissible loading
time is so short that the long term on-load operating temperature is not attained. The ensuing interval in loading is,
however, not sufficiently long for cooling down to the long term no-load operating temperature.
EQUIPMENT not suitable for use in the presence of a FLAMMABLE ANESTHETIC MIXTURE WITH AIR or WITH
OXYGEN or NITROUS OXIDE
CLEANING
The system is NOT WATERPROOF. It is NOT designed to protect internal components against the ingress of
liquids.Clean external system surfaces(Gantry, table, consoles and accessories)with a soft cloth dipped in hot water
and wrung DAMP/DRY. (NOT dripping!) IF NECESSARY, use only mild (dish washing liquid) soap to remove dirt.
NOTICE
