REAKSİYONLAR??????

3. slayt

Here, we will briefly explain our process via PFD. Firstly, we calculated the amount of propylene to
be fed as two hundred seven point thirty eight kilomoles per hour based on ninety thousand tonnes
and three hundred days. On this PFD, two-step oxidation of propylene takes place. Compressor, two
reactors, absorption, extraction and distillation columns, heat exchangers and pumps are used in
the process. Our inputs are propylene, air, deionized water and solvent. Our outputs are off-gas,
waste water, acetic acid and acrylic acid. Final purification produces 99.9mol% (ninety nine point
nine percent) acrylic acid as bottom product and 95mol% (ninety five percent) acetic acid as top
product.

Air is compressed as a source of oxygen. In the first reactor The main purpose here is to produce
acrolein from propylene. In addition, small amounts of acrylic acid, acetic acid, carbon dioxide and
water are produced. Then, The acrolein-rich gas mixture passes into the second reactor to convert
acrolein to acrylic acid.

We may continue with the block flow diagram.

This is our block flow diagram.

If you would, we may look mass balance around the reactors.

This is our first reactor. Propylene is fed from tank. Here, we calculated the amount of propylene to
be fed as two hundred seven point thirty eight kilomoles per hour based on ninety thousand tonnes
and three hundred days. Air is compressed as a source of oxygen. In the first reactor, 4 different
reactions take place with different conversions. Here you may see the conversion rates and
reactions. The main purpose here is to produce acrolein from propylene. In addition, small amounts
of acrylic acid, acetic acid, carbon dioxide and water are produced. And then, with the necessary
calculations, mass balance is provided around the first reactor.
The acrolein-rich gas mixture passes into the second reactor to convert acrolein to acrylic acid. One
hundred percent conversion takes place here. In addition, ninety percent recycling is made with
acrylic acid, acetic acid and water to cool the reactor overheated due to the exothermic reaction
and to prevent unwanted side reactions. So, with the necessary calculations, mass balance is
provided around the second reactor.
