Epidemiology
The disease affects 1-2 per 100,000 people in the population, with a female to
male ratio of 1.5:1. It can affect all ages but tends to have a bimodal
distribution curve, with peaks at 15-35 years and 50-75 years.
Diagnosis
Treatment
Physical therapy is indicated in the recovery phase for the return of limb
function.
