Projected to be the 19th largest economy in the world in 2035, Vietnam is one of the largest and

fastest growing economy in the world.

The IMF (International Monetary Fund) assesses Vietnam as the only positive economic growth
in ASEAN with GDP growth of 1.6% in 2020 and 6.7% in 2021. These rates are considered to
be among the highest in the world. Therefore, maintaining the above rates is a difficult question
for the Government. One of the most effective ways is to raise capital, besides ODA (Official
Development Assistance) or FDI (Foreign Development Investment), the other medium and
long-term source of capital is the stock market. It cannot be denied that the current Vietnamese
stock market is an effective investment that is receiving much attention.

After a great deal of the Government's effort, Vietnam's stock market was founded in 2000. As
of June 2020, through the stock market, the Government and businesses have earned more than
2.4 million VND for production and business, particularly in the 2011 period up to now, the
scale of capital mobilization through the stock market has reached about 1.7 million billion
VND, average contribution of 20% of total social investment capital. The development of
Vietnam's stock market has contributed to promoting the process of economic restructuring.

We are living in a special socioeconomic context with enormous changes, all countries are in the
process of globalization and international economic integration. In that context, the Vietnamese
economy requires a lot of use of internal resources as well as the use of external resources. The
process of economic integration affects all aspects of social life, all aspects of the economy. As a
high-level market institution, the stock market can be an integration trend. Although Vietnam's
stock market has not been established for a long time, it is always affected by the economic
integration process. Therefore, it is very urgent to study Vietnam's stock market in the current
globalization and economic integration context.

For all the above reasons, we have decided to choose the topic “Vietnam stock market in current
situation”.
