Introduction
This guide walks an end user through setting up windows virtual desktop on a windows host machine.

2. Scroll down to the below section and hit on the installer that matches your windows operating
system in this example “Windows 64-bit”
3. Once downloaded, you will see the file with the name “RemoteDesktop_1.2.790.0_x64” and right
click the installer and select “Install”.
4. Once the setup gets started, below snap appears on the screen and then hit on the “Next” button.
6. Remote Desktop application will then show up on your screen once the installation successfully
gets completed.
7. Hit on “Subscribe” as shown below. If you receive an error stating that "something went wrong",
make sure you are not connected to GlobalProtect VPN - click the GlobalProtect icon in tray, click the
menu in the top right corner of the window, and click Disable. You may re-enable your VPN once the
application setup is complete.
9. Please select “Work or school account” to get configured with the FactSet account.
10. Once done with the above step, we will receive the below window asking us to enter your
complete FactSet email address and password.
This Okta prompt will only happen every time you reset your password (so every 60 days)

12. Once Okta verify gets completed, you will get the below snap on your screen.
15. You will then need to Okta Verify again at the windows logon page
Push the notification to your phone and once confirmed you will then see your desktop
16. You will get to see below the window popped up on your screen.

17. Please type your complete FactSet email address and then hit on “Sign in” button.
18. Since you are FactSet network the password will automatically get updated using SSO.
20. Click on Next and once done, below window pops up and then hit on Next.
22. Hit on “Open my OneDrive folder” and start saving your files.
You can power on and off your VM via https://fdswvdportal-drdj74unvcqgy.azurewebsites.net/ you can
also check the status of the VM.

You can adjust the settings of the VM by right clicking to bring up the settings
Here you can adjust what screen or screens the WVD will use and change resolution settings.
