Furthermore the defective elimination over a long period of time may result in permanent vision
loss .The standards of elimination for different kinds of works as follows

7 )ventilation :-poor ventilation not only increases the chances of infection from one person to
another but also affects the mental and physical efficiency of worker

protect the workers against exposure to dust ,fumes and other toxic hazards.
9) Housing :- there in usually an accused shorting of housing in industrial area.nost workers
come from rural.areas.the housing of workers near a plant must be correlated to essential
community amenities and to social.and sanitary facility

4 Mental health​.
The objective of an occupational health service is not only to keep the workers physically
healthy but mentally and psychologically stable .
The goals of mental health in industry are
A .to promote the health and happiness of the workers
B.to detect the science of emotional stress among the workers and relief the stress
C.the treatment of employee suffering from mental health
D.the rehabilitation of those workers who work mentally health.

5.measures of women and children


Women workers require special protection
1.During pregnancy the developing embryo maybe more to noxious agents
2.Females will be less suited for some task then men
3.Women tend to feed themselves less then men
4.Women restrict their nourishment in difficult economic conditions
5.the infant mortality is more in working women employed in industry.
The following types of protection are available for working women in india
1.They are given maternity leave for 6 months of which
2.provision of free antenatal, natal ,post natal services
3.the factories act sec 66 prohibit work from 7 pm to 6am and sec 34 prohibit carrying of
excessive weights for women.
4.The indian mines act of 1923 prohibit work underground for women
5.the factories act of 1976 provides for creche in factories where the women is more than 30.
regarding protection of children the constitution of india declared no child below the age of 14
shall be employed to any factory or any mine or engaged in any hazardous work.

6.Health education​.
It is a basic health need
It is an important health promotional measure.health education in the industrial setting should be
envisaged at all levels,the management, the worker,the supervisor staff,the trade union

7.Family planning​:-
It is now recognized as a decisive factor for the quality of life,and this applies to industrial
workers also.
The workers must adopt the small family norm.

Prevention of occupational disease


The various measure for the Prevention of occupational disease may be group under 2 heads
Medical and engineering
The medical measures
1.pre placement examination
It is a foundation of an efficient occupational health service.It is done at the type of employment
and includes the workers medical , family ,occupational and social history.Ex chest
x-ray,ecg,vision test,urine and blood test.
The following is a list of occupational disease that are risky to employee workers suffering
disease
a.If it is lead industry then the person kidney diseases, anemia high blood pressure will not be
employed
b.If it is a dye industry then the person having asthma ,skin disease,kidney disease or blood
disease will not be employed.
C.If it is a solvent industry then the person having liver and kidney disease, skin disease or
alcoholism.
D.If the industry is using a lot of silica then having person Tuberculosis of lungs,active tb and
also chronic lung disease
E.If the industry is using x-ray then person having ill health like chest problem,blood problems,
leukemia.
2.Periodical examination
Many disease of occupational origin requires months or even years for the development. There
slow development very often led to the recognition in the early stage and this is harmful for
workers.
This is a reason why periodical medical checkup is necessary because they handle toxic or
poisonous substances.

3. Medical and Healthcare services


The medical care of occupational disease is a basic function of occupational health services

In India the employees state insurance scheme provides medical care for workers and their
families. Within the factory first aid services should be made available .Properly applied first
aid could reduce suffering and increase recovery. Immunization is another accepted services
that should be available.
